Thinking about new business modeling
This annual conference grew out of a series of seminars that took place at the Toulouse Business School (Toulouse) in France during 2013 and 2015. There the idea was born to organize an annual small-scale conference enabling discussions on the latest developments around business modeling and, more particularly, on how these models contribute to societal-economic trends such as sustainability, the circular economy, social entrepreneurship, and community-based business models. The aim is to show latest developments on the edge of academia and practices. Furthermore, there is room for PhD-students and undergraduates to present their work. The work presented at each annual conference is the object of one or more Special Issues of journals or book chapters. The first conference took place in Toulouse (France) in 2016, followed by highly successful conferences in Graz (Austria) and Sofia (Bulgaria) in 2017 and 2018. The conference in Berlin is the fourth edition. The fifth anniversary conference will take place in Nijmegen (The Netherlands) in 2020. After this series of five international conferences we will decide how to proceed with this challenging adventure.
